Recent D.C. Public Education Engagement and Studies:

Starting in 2023 the DME led the Boundary and Student Assignment Study (2024 release) which reviewed and updated attendance zones and student assignment policies to promote equitable access to quality schools.

The DME also produced the DC Public Education Master Facilities Plan (2023), which identifies long-term strategic priorities for public school facilities, including modernization, utilization, and capital investment needs.

The 2023 School Funding Study conducted by the DME evaluated the adequacy and equity of school funding mechanisms, including the Uniform Per Student Funding Formula (UPSFF), recommending adjustments to enhance instructional quality and student support throughout the District's schools.
